Marriage is one of sacred tradition in South Sulawesi. The marriage have to through some processions, the processions make the marriage being especial and sacred for whom are married.
Usually, the processions need a long time, much material and even energy. Based on the sequence it processions
1. Mappasisseng/Acquaint/Introduce
One of family from the merried candidate introduce them or the merried candidate meet each other in one place or moment. The procession happen if the married candidate are not knowing each other but usually the fact that they are being fianced before introducing each other by their family. The principal that "mendekatkan yang jauh and sudah saling mengerti/memahami satu sama lain" resulting in the marriage implemented or undergo with family.
2. Mammanu' - manu'/Probe/Explore/Investigate
The man families come to the women families to know about the candidate wife,they investigate many thing to match or fit their life things such as their descent, dawry ability and etc.
3. Madduta/Propose
The man families meet with the women families to talk about the dawry, the schedule of the party, and the the other marriage procession. In this process,usually need more time because they want to match the agreement in order that there will not lackness and fault occur. Even, in the end or the last of party it occur.
